Recruit Jaheira and the Harpers for Assistance
Your first step in taking down Ketheric Thorm is to enlist the help of Jaheira and the Harpers. Their support will greatly increase your chances of success. Make sure to speak with Jaheira when you reach the Last Light Inn and convince her to join your cause. Additionally, seek out the Nightsong and speak with Isobel at Last Light Inn for additional allies. Once you have gathered your companions, make your way to Moonrise Towers via Reithwin Town.
Battle Through Moonrise Towers
As you approach Moonrise Towers, Jaheira will once again join your party. Engage in battle with the cultists and other creatures that stand in your way. Focus on using area-of-effect and ranged attacks to overcome the enemy forces. Keep your party members spread out to avoid their devastating area-of-effect attacks. Press forward to the top of the tower, where you’ll encounter Ketheric Thorm. Engage in dialogue with him, attempting to convince him to surrender through high Persuasion checks. However, be prepared for a battle as Ketheric will not easily give up.
The First Phase: Fight Ketheric Thorm
In the first phase of the battle, you’ll face off against Ketheric Thorm, his skeletal dog Squire, Necromites, and Susdera, who spawns the Necromites. Prioritize taking down Susdera and the Necromites to prevent being overwhelmed. Ranged attacks and spells are most effective against Ketheric Thorm, while Nightsong will focus on attacking him. Once Ketheric Thorm’s health drops below half, he will flee with Nightsong.
Enter the Mindflayer Colony
After the first battle, speak with Jaheira once more and descend into the Hollow Tower chasm. You’ll find yourself in the Mindflayer Colony, a grotesque and dangerous place. Explore the area, rescue Zevlor, and prepare for the next phase of the fight.
The Second Phase: Battle in the Mind Flayer Colony
In the Mind Flayer Colony, head to the Tapoling Centre. Free Zevlor from his pod, triggering a small battle with Mind Flayers. Defeat them and proceed to coordinates X741, Y-23 to find an elevator. After the battle, claim your rewards from Ketheric Thorm’s corpse, including his Warhammer, Shield, Netherstone, Reaper’s Embrace, and a Supply Pack. With Ketheric Thorm gone and the Netherstone in your possession, head to the city of Baldur’s Gate to continue your heroic journey. Don’t forget to recruit Jaheira for your camp before you depart from Moonrise Towers.
