Though it may appear that two Subdetection Units are locked behind the In Search of Lost Time quest within the tower, they can actually be found just outside. Explore the area behind the tower on the right side to discover them.

Head to the new research center’s headquarters for more units. Most of them can be found outside the northern entrance, with one located above it on a broken piece of stonework.

Finally, venture north to discover random units in the lab remains situated in the hills. Look under balconies and near machinery for these sneaky Subdetection Units. There is also a collection of units near the northern tower and a small gathering of them in the east by the riverbank.
