Fortnite OG Arrives: Planes, Hamster Balls, Tilted Towers, and More Return over the Next Four Weeks

Fornite Season OG: Nostalgic Trip Back to Chapter 1

Fortnite’s latest season, Season OG, has just kicked off, and it’s a nostalgic trip back to the battle royale game’s first chapter. This season brings back a range of weapons, vehicles, items, and cosmetics from Chapter 1, along with the original map. Players can once again explore iconic locations like Tilted Towers, Loot Lake, and Greasy Grove.

A Flashback to Fortnite’s Early Days

The idea of a flashback season for Fortnite was initially teased by leaks, and Epic Games, the developers behind the game, finally confirmed it earlier this week. Season OG is based on Chapter 1 Season 5 and offers players a chance to experience the game as it was in its early days.

    Weapons, Items, and Vehicles

The update for Season OG includes the unvaulting of some classic weapons like the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and Hunting Rifle. In addition, players will find items like the Damage Trap, Grappler, and Boogie Bomb back in the game.

On the vehicle front, players can once again ride shopping carts and the All Terrain Kart, allowing for fast-paced movement across familiar locations like Greasy Grove, Risky Reels, and Tilted Towers.

Season OG Duration and Future Updates

To match the nostalgic theme, Season OG will only last for a week until November 9th. After that, elements from Season 6 will be introduced. Loot Lake will become a location again, and players can expect the return of weapons like the Double Barrel Shotgun, Clinger, and Six Shooter, along with items such as the Chiller Trap, Port-a-Fortress, and Mounted Turrets. The Quadcrasher quad bike will also join the vehicle lineup.

On November 16th, Seasons 7 and 8 will combine into a single update, bringing back the snowy region and chilly airport Frosty Flights from the Chapter 1 map. The X-4 Stormwing plane will make a comeback, along with the Pirate Cannon as a more nautical option. Players can also look forward to using weapons like the Flint-Knock Pistol, Minigun, and Quad Launcher, as well as items like the Poison Dart Trap, Itemized Glider Redeploy, and Buried Treasure.

The final update for Season OG will arrive on November 23rd and will be themed around Seasons 9 and X. Elements from Season 8, such as the grappling hamster Baller vehicle, will also be included. The Jetpack and Storm Flip items will make a return, and new weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle, Proximity Grenade Launcher, Air Strike, and Junk Rift will be introduced.

    Additions, Modes, and Battle Pass

Some of the additions in Season OG will only be available for a week, while others will run throughout the entire season. It’s worth noting that the Chiller Trap, Mounted Turret, and Poison Dart Trap won’t be available in the Zero Build mode.

Alongside the new season, there’s a reduced Battle Pass with just 50 levels, matching the shorter length of Season OG. Progression will be faster to help players unlock a range of costumes and gear, including mashups of popular unlockables from the past. The Item Shop will also feature a mix of new and returning items throughout the season.

The Fortnite Community and Epic Games

The Season OG run comes after some significant changes within Epic Games, including a layoff of over 800 people and the sale of music platform Bandcamp. These changes were attributed, in part, to Fortnite’s underperformance and relatively slow growth.
