I may not require the physical Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, but I profoundly desire it in English.

Unveiling Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition: A Tasteful Physical Package

Look, I’m fairly certain you’ve played Baldur’s Gate 3 already. In fact, you’ve probably played a bunch of it, whether you’ve spent that time killing goblins, shagging bears, or smooching the internet’s favorite vampire husband. So, like me, there’s no real reason you’d need another copy of the game. And yet.

The Allure of the Deluxe Edition

Baldur’s Gate 3 developers, Larian, have recently introduced a swanky physical Deluxe Edition of the beloved D&D RPG. This edition not only includes the game itself but also adds a bundle of physical goodies. Unlike other overpriced collector’s items that end up gathering dust, the Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 seems to embrace a more restrained and tasteful approach.

    What’s Inside the Box

The package includes a game disc, although it’s worth noting that it’s essentially a custom downloader with a Steam key for PC. While it would have been marvelous to have a fully offline playable version of the game, the inclusion of physical discs in this day and age is understandably challenging. However, the Deluxe Edition offers something genuinely physical in the form of the game’s original soundtrack spread across three CDs.

For those itching to bring a touch of decor to their next D&D night, the package also includes a double-sided map printed on bookbinding cloth, 32 stickers, two fabric patches representing the Flaming Fist and Mark of the Absolute, as well as a stunning Mind Flayer poster on chalk paper.

    A Nostalgic Touch

Perhaps the most exciting aspect, at least for sentimental gamers, is the packaging itself. The Deluxe Edition comes in a box styled after the original Baldur’s Gate and its sequel, evoking a wave of nostalgia from the early noughties gaming era.

    Reasonable Pricing

You might be wondering if all of this sounds outrageously expensive. Rest assured, Larian has priced the Deluxe Edition at a reasonable €79.99 (£70), just slightly above the cost of purchasing the game and its Digital Deluxe Edition DLC separately on Steam. If you don’t already own the game, this package represents a great value. Even if you do, it’s still a neat little set to add to your collection. However, keep in mind that it won’t be available until the start of 2024. So, why not gift the spare key to a friend and indulge yourself in this delightful package?
