    OpenSim Land Area Hits New All-Time High

    The land area in OpenSim has surpassed 130,000 standard region equivalents this month, reaching a new all-time high. This marks the second consecutive month that OpenSim has set a land record. Over the past month, the total number of regions has grown by over 2,000. Additionally, registered users have increased by more than 5,000 and active users have increased by over 800.

    Anticipated Increase in Traffic

    Traffic is expected to be even higher in the coming month due to the start of the annual OSFest.

    Tracking OpenSim Grids

    Currently, 2,619 OpenSim grids are being tracked. Out of these, 430 are active, and 270 have published their statistics this month. A total of 430 grids have been identified with accessible public stats pages, while the rest do not have accessible public stats pages. Those with stats pages that are not being tracked can email the team to be included in future reports.

    Record-High Number of Active Grids

    In addition to the increase in land area, the total number of active grids has also reached a record high this month.

    Top Grids by Land Area

    The three largest grids by land area this month are OSgrid, Wolf Territories Grid, and Kitely. These grids have consistently maintained their positions as the top three in terms of land area. OSgrid currently has the equivalent of 29,770 standard-sized regions, followed by Wolf Territories Grid with 25,504 regions, and Kitely with 18,301 regions.     Different Grid Offerings

    OSgrid offers unlimited free regions to all residents who run them on their home computers. On the other hand, ZetaWorlds offers two-by-two regions with 75,000 prims for a monthly fee. Several grids, including OSgrid and Kitely, also provide free land parcels to residents.

    DreamGrid and OutWorldz

    DreamGrid has recorded a total of 3,435 unique DreamGrids since its launch. DreamGrid and OutWorldz are owned by Micro Technology Services. Many of the grids running on DreamGrid are private and not included in the statistics.

    Online Marketplaces for OpenSim Content

    Kitely Market is currently the largest online marketplace for OpenSim content. It has over 20,000 product listings with more than 34,000 product variations, of which 34,821 are exportable. Kitely Market has delivered orders to 598 OpenSim grids to date, making it a valuable platform for both creators and consumers of OpenSim content.

    Tag Grid, another closed grid, also has its own online marketplace that lists over 29,000 items for sale or free.

    During this month, several new OpenSim grids were added to the database, including Ansjela Grid, Ares World, Butschiland, CLC Grid, Conectados Grid, Escape 2 Reality Grid, Genesis PR, Holo Neon, Humble Grid, Hypergrid City, Lailara Heya, Little Big City, Monarch Gardens, Nekolution, Old Europa Metaverse, SiN Grid, Troiwia, and Vanessa.

    Suspended Grids

    A number of grids have been marked as suspended this month, including Adult Nation, Adventure Bay, Costa Isla, Eenhgrid, Elords, Etheria Grid, Farm World A Sua Vida Virtual, Happy Hour, Hasengang, and many others.

    The top 40 grids by land area include OSgrid, Wolf Territories Grid, Kitely, ZetaWorlds, Alternate Metaverse, Discovery Grid, Groovy Verse, DigiWorldz, TheKaz Grid, and others.
