    The Last of Us Part II Remastered Coming to PlayStation 5

    Naughty Dog has confirmed the existence of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and it will be available on the PlayStation 5 console on January 19, 2024. According to Jonathon Dornbush, a representative from Naughty Dog, the remastered version will provide players with the definitive experience of the acclaimed sequel released in 2020.

    The Last of Us Part II Remastered will bring enhanced graphics to the game, including native 4K output in Fidelity Mode and 1440p upscaled to 4K in Performance Mode. It will also feature an Unlocked Framerate option for TVs that support VRR, increased texture resolution, improved shadow quality, animation sampling rate, and more. These enhancements aim to make the world of Part II’s story even more immersive and detailed.

    Players will have the option to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for a fee of $10.

    Previously, a leaked video from PlayStation hinted at the release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PlayStation 5. The remaster was also discovered in PlayStation’s database by dataminer PlayStationSize.

    The remastered version will include visual performance at 4K in Fidelity Mode and various new technical enhancements that make it the definitive edition of the game. It will offer improved load times, DualSense integration, new unlockable characters, and Lost Levels featuring early-development versions of three new levels not found in the original game.

    One notable addition is the introduction of the roguelike mode called No Return. In this mode, encounters are randomized, and players can choose from several playable characters, each with unique playstyles. The mode allows players to customize their character and decide the rewards they receive after each encounter.

    The Last of Us Part II Remastered will also include additional content such as developer commentary, Guitar Free Play mode with new unlockable instruments, Speedrun Mode, Descriptive Audio, Speech to Vibrations, and new character and weapon skins.
