If you’ve ever done any research on mattresses, you’ve probably noticed that they seem to be on sale all the time. However, most of these sales are nothing more than clever marketing tactics, and Black Friday mattress deals are no exception. Typically, mattress prices are excessively marked up in early November, only to be dropped to a “sale” price for the shopping holiday. Many consumers see these huge discounts and assume it’s a good time to buy. While there are cases where prices indeed drop lower than the faux sale, right now 11 of our favorite mattresses are genuinely discounted. Please note, the prices listed below are for queen sizes unless stated otherwise.

Throughout the year, we diligently track prices to determine the true value of these sale prices. However, we have recently added a few new mattresses to our list that we haven’t been able to track as closely. This price matches other sales we’ve tracked, and we haven’t seen it drop any lower. It offers a medium-firm feel, which is perfect for all sleeping positions. Our testers particularly loved it for stomach sleeping. While we recommend the Midnight Luxe, there are also a few other versions in the Luxe family that cater to different firmness levels and sleeping positions.
With code BF25, you can add two pillows to your order. Although we haven’t been tracking the Elite mattress for as long as the Luxe, this sale price matches the lowest we saw during Labor Day. However, please note that this is the most expensive mattress we recommend. It features nine layers of foam compared to the Luxe’s six, and is 16 inches thick. The Elite comes in two boxes that zip together to form one super-thick bed. You will need a bed frame with slats. We personally tried the softest version, and found it to be incredibly comfortable.
For our favorite side-sleeping mattress, enter code BLACKFRIDAY23 at checkout on Bear’s website. This deal also includes a free mattress protector, sheet set, and two pillows (since those aren’t included when purchasing from Amazon). The Bear Elite is 14 inches thick and firmer than most mattresses intended for side sleepers. However, it still provides excellent comfort with its layer of springs of varied rigidity, allowing your hips to sink while supporting your side. While the Elite occasionally reaches its $2,305 price, it has consistently been $1,614 or less on Amazon. In fact, it was $126 less than the current sale price in September, so it’s worth keeping an eye on for another price drop.
On Birch’s website, use code BF25 to get the discount plus two pillows. We haven’t been tracking this mattress for as long, but it seems to consistently be priced at $2,599 instead of its $3,249 list price. The Birch Luxe Natural is an upgraded, organic bed. It is GOTS-certified and uses natural latex without any polyurethane-based foams. Offering a medium-firm feel, it provides structured support for various sleeping positions. The pillowy top utilizes a layer of blended cashmere for effective temperature regulation.
While we used to recommend Nectar’s classic memory foam mattress, the Premier is now our top pick for pressure relief. It features an extra layer of foam and is softer than the original, allowing you to sink slowly into the bed while still receiving the necessary support. When purchasing directly from Nectar’s site, make sure to select the hybrid option before adding it to your cart since it defaults to foam. This mattress is particularly ideal for those who primarily sleep on their sides. If you tend to switch positions throughout the night, we recommend considering one of our other picks, such as the Bear Elite mentioned earlier.
No code is required on Amazon, but for other retailers, you can use code VETERAN30. As the name suggests, the Plank mattress is incredibly firm—almost as firm as sleeping on a wood floor. While you can flip it over and sleep on the two inches of comfort foam, those interested in such a bed likely prefer the extreme firmness. Keep in mind that it may take a few days for the mattress to fully inflate, but it will firm up considerably over time. However, the edge support is lacking.
Here we have a new, low-cost addition to our guide. While it had consistently been priced at $219 since May, it recently increased to over $300 on Amazon at the beginning of November. We hope to see it drop back down to its original price, but even at $52 off, it is still an affordable option. This bed is made without formaldehyde or flame retardant and offers a super soft feel. While we found it to be comfortable, we probably wouldn’t recommend sleeping on it every night. It’s best suited for kids’ rooms or guest rooms.
A variety of customizations are available for this mattress, but we tested the version with the ultimate support level and a plush pillow top. The Perfect Sleeper is an innerspring mattress that does not come rolled up, so you will need to schedule delivery. It offers a soft yet supportive feel, with the springs arranged in three different zones of firmness. This ensures that both side sleepers and back sleepers will find the necessary comfort for a good night’s sleep.

The Kiwi mattress is the perfect hybrid option for kids, as it is made with certified organic cotton, wool, and latex. While the twin size is cheaper than most of our top picks, it still offers a comfortably firm sleeping surface. WIRED writer Scott Gilbertson reports that his children consider it the most comfortable bed they’ve ever slept on.

After a year of use, it has proven to be durable and comfortable. However, please note that it is on the softer side.
