VLGE launches software development kit (SDK) for its no-code virtual world builder targeting fashion, beauty, and art sectors

Is the Metaverse Ready for No-Code World-Building Platforms?

We’ve seen the rise of no-code and low-code platforms being applied to any number of applications and use cases. What would happen if this thinking were applied to metaverse-style virtual worlds? What would be built?

With Apple’s new Vision Pro headset and the increasing interest in the “metaverse,” startups in the sector are gaining renewed attention. One such startup is VLGE, a France-based company that has secured $4 million in funding from Venrex VC and L’Oréal. VLGE aims to empower the fashion, beauty, and art industries to build their own immersive digital worlds, rather than relying on existing platforms like Meta.

V-Suite, VLGE’s proprietary world-builder and asset management tools, are being developed as a no-code solution. The company has opened applications for creators and brands to access its software development kit (SDK) and explore the possibilities of virtual reality.

    Investors and Partners

VLGE has attracted notable investors such as Venrex and BOLD, the venture capital fund of L’Oréal. It also counts the British Fashion Council and the VR Fund among its investors. The company has advisors from wave-making companies like Wave, Sandbox, and Paper Magazine.

The Vision of Evelyn Mora, VLGE’s Founder

The brain behind VLGE is Evelyn Mora, a Finnish entrepreneur and sustainability strategist based in France. Mora, who has a background as a fashion photographer and industry veteran, aims to provide a diverse ecosystem of world-building solutions.

Mora believes existing platforms are expensive, lack user-friendliness, and scalability. With VLGE, her goal is to empower creators and brands to develop immersive virtual experiences in a scalable and affordable manner while reducing their physical footprint. She hopes to introduce unique monetization models that align with brands’ identities as cultural leaders, artistic trendsetters, storytellers, and innovators.

    Empowering World Builders with V-Suite

VLGE aims to simplify the process of creating metaverses through its V-Suite platform. World builders can upload their own assets and leverage V-BLDR, a no-code drag-and-drop design tool within the VLGE ecosystem. The platform offers various templates, allowing users to choose from beachfronts, forests, cities, and more.

VLGE also plans to incorporate multiple monetization channels, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs), into its platform. Other companies, such as Spatial and Exclusible, are also exploring similar approaches to combining virtual spaces and NFTs.

    Rejuvenating the Metaverse Market

VLGE’s ambitions reflect a growing interest in the metaverse market beyond Meta’s dominance. With investments from industry leaders and a no-code world-building approach, VLGE aims to revolutionize the creation and monetization of immersive digital worlds.
