This week has seen the release of the Meta Quest 3 headset, which I have had the opportunity to test briefly. Initial impressions are positive, and I plan to write a more detailed article soon. In other news, mixed reality experiences are gaining popularity, with people using the Quest 3 headset to watch movies and play games in mixed reality. The Quest 3 is also being praised for its VR capabilities, although the increased game sizes may pose a storage issue for some users. Additionally, a recent teardown of the Quest 3 revealed that the large battery takes up a significant amount of space and weight.

Finally, there are some exciting updates in the XR gaming space, with new games and experiences being released. Mojo Vision has secured funding for its microLED display manufacturing efforts, and ONTOP Studios has announced a new experience called “New Fantasy”.
